Jake Update......

Poor Jake...
So our never ending problems continue with Jake. Last night Jake was determined to take off his new bandages with the hoodie on and he was successful....right before we were to sit down for supper with Auntie Shelley and Uncle Tim. Since all Vet Clinics are closed on Saturday night--imagine that, how dare they not be open...we had to take Jake to the Veterinarian Emergency Ro0m in the Faculty of Veterinarian Medicine at University of Saskatchewan. Shelley came with me and we were lucky enough to get in before all the 'real' emergencies came through the door. The technicians were wonderful at cleaning Jake's incision and bandaging him up. And lucky for Jake he got an even bigger hoodie than the last one. The poor dog has a lot of difficulty navigating through the house and eating and drinking his food and water--the hoodie is so big he cannot climb stairs. He often gets 'stuck' and will just stand there waiting for help...or bark..which ever comes first.

A Hoodie for Jake..
Just a quick update on Jake.
He had to go for new bandages today. This time they wrap his paw so some of it is showing..and Jake hates it!!
So now the poor dog has to wear a Hoodie. He is so embarrassed and when he gets stuck he just stand there waiting for help. Navigating the Hoodie is proving to be a bit of a challenge.....

Our Jake...
So it has been a crazy week for us. Last Thursday Jake went to the Groomers..and to make a long story short a tumor was found growing between the pads of his paws on his right hind leg. I had to take Jake into the Vet as it was bleeding really bad. The Vet said the tumor needed to be removed and as he was checking Jake out he also discovered his lymph nodes were enlarged. So on Monday Jake went in for a simple removal of the tumor and biopsy of the lymph node..or so we thought. Jake's toe had to be amputated, poor dog and to make matters worse, yesterday after Jake got a bandage change he tore the new bandage off and ripped out all his stitches--while we were at work. I came home to find his paw wide open and down to the bones!! I had to rush him to the Clinic where they had to put him under to sew up his incision, again. Not a fun night!!! Now Jake is resting and leaving his 'owie" alone. We will know sometime next week if Jake does have Cancer and go from there.
Definately not a dull moment in our house these days!
Jake's owie paw.
