Happy Birthday Jackson!!

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

Where does the time go????  And how do I make time stand still???

Jackson had a great birthday.  To start we went glow bowling with his buddies Chase, Connor and Noah.  Uncle Jason, Auntie Jenn and Maddie joined us and so did Nana and Papa!  After bowling we had pizza and cake.  Now, even though you see we had only 3 extra boys in the house it felt like 20~Chase and Connor thought it would be great if Jackson had a Nerf gun like them...and then chaos ensued.  Ask Jenn...it was crazy town in our house for awhile.  Nerf bullets flying everywhere.
Now all of this happened on Satruday because today, on Jackson's actual Birthday he had a hockey game after school and got his first goal of the season!!!!!  Yah Jackson!!  We then asked him what he wanted for supper and he said "I just want to go home to eat", so we did.  Chase came over and the two of them put some of his leggo together and to my surprise it was nice and quiet in the house.

I have pictures of our bowling trip that I still need to load to the computer.  So for now I am going to post a picture of our man playing Wii with his big cousin Chris.  Jackson mentions Chris quite often, especially when he is playing Wii.  And for his birthday from his Aunt DJ, Uncle Vince, Chris and Allison Jackson got Sonic Colors for Wii.  When Jackson played the game for the first time the other night he said he thought his cousin Chris would be pretty good at it too :)

Our baby girl is 5 yrs old!!

Happy 5th Birthday Mackenzie!!!

It's hard to believe how fast the last 5 yrs have gone by.  Our little girl is not so little anymore :(
Wasn't it just yesterday that she a Maddie were crawling around our house getting into trouble?  Now you are in Kindergarten, you love to figure skate, ski and play in the snow.  You have a mind of your own and watch out to those of you who try and change it!!!

Mackenzie, we love you so much and we are so proud of you.

Happy Birthday Mackenzie!!!

Flying with Uncle Jason

Uncle Jason took Jackson flying on Friday.  Jackson was so excited he couldn't stop talking on the way to the airport.  Jason said that during the flight Jackson enjoyed saying 'roger' over and over again in the head set and that he was a natural flyer asking A LOT of question.   Uncle Jason let the tower know that he had a child on board so they lit up the runway lights for them.  They flew over our house at one point and Jackson even got to fly the plane....and yes it was safe for him to do so in case any of you were wondering~so no eye rolling people!!

Hockey season is well underway!!!

Here are a few pics from Jackson's first game.

Snow!!!

We have snow!!
Not a lot but just enough to bring out the moron drivers who have no clue how to drive in icy/snowy conditions.  More importanly, there is enough snow to be 'sledding' by Mackenzie's definition~ "sledding is...when Jackson pulls me on the sled"
oh, and she calls him Rudolph.
"come on Rudoph lets go"!!!!

It's my Bithday

I am 40

There, I  said it....lets move on.

Instead of posting a picture of what I look like today (you know how I love to have my picture taken),
I thought I would post a pic of me when I was six months at Granny and Grandpa Markosky's farm.

Just before school started Jenn, Maddie and I did a photo shoot at Maddie's new school, Ecole Victoria School~which is where Mackenzie and Jackson go to school too.  The following book, Jenn created using Blurb, is a wonderful keepsake for Maddie.

Photo walk 2011

On Saturday I was on a World Wide Photo Walk.  In more than 1,100 cities around the world Scott Kelby's 4th Annual World Wide Photo Walk kicked off, and nearly 30,000 photographers around the world will collectively have taken literally millions of photos as part of their local Photo Walks. Pretty cool to know people all over the world are doing exactly what you are doing.

The theme was Architecture and let me tell you I was out of my comfort zone.  On this walk I could have used some advice from my cuz Allison who is studying Architecture in France this year!  Her pictures are amazing (I'll post a link later... not too sure how to do that at the moment).  I've decided to leave the art of Architecture Imagery to Allison and stick to children and families.

Here is my best shot of the day.

Today SUCKS a lot...

Our Forever Dog... Jake

It's hard to believe that it has been a whole year since Jake past away,
and our hearts hurt just as much today as they did one year ago.

How did Jayson and I get so lucky to have a dog like Jake?

We miss you Jake...

even though Jake is no longer with us it just seems wrong to take the "and our Dog Jake" out of our blog title

"What is your name? What is your favorite color? When is your Birthday"?

No pictures yet...just a short story

So, holidays have been great, ending with a trip to the 'valley' to see Grandma and Grandpa Kenco, Uncle Bruce and Aunt DJ, Uncle Vince and Chris and Allison.  We had a great time and even though we do not get to see each other as often as we wish, the time spent together was appreciated that much more.  And Allison and Chris, thank you again for the time the two of you spent with Jackson and Mackenzie.  Both of them could not stop talking about how much fun they had with you and the Bears have a permanent home with cuddles each night when the kids go to bed.

Okay, so here is my story~Uncle Vince this one's for you!!

For those of you who know, and for those that don't, Uncle Vince is somewhat of a character.  When we were little he would tell us stories of "The Horse with the Red Eyes" and speak in funny voices to make us laugh.  And this trip was no different (insert smile here).  To get Mackenzie and Jackson to smile he would say in an Irish sort of accent, "What is your name?  What is your favorite color?  When is your birthday"?  and before he was finished Mackenzie would be giggling away.  Sooooooo,
I'm putting the kids to bed last night and Jackson comes running into Mackenzie's room, jumps up to reach her in the top bunk and says, "What is your name?  What is your favorite color?  When is your birthday?", and the two of them started laughing and giggling and then Mackenzie would try and say it back without laughing and then the two of them would start all over again.

So Uncle Vince, thank you for making our bedtime routine a little longer and a memory I am sure the kids will always remember.

day 2 in couer d'alene

A few highlights from Day 2:

1  Jackson went on his first roller coaster ride- The Timber Terror with his mom cuz Dad's too scared.
2. Mackenzie LOVES caracelle rides
3. Ice cream is the fifth food group when you are on holidays
4. wave pools are as much fun as waterslides, especially with a lifejacket and goggles on
5. you can walk around an amusement park for 5 hrs then go to a water park for 2 hrs and still gain weight...what's up with that!!??

as you can see i am still having trouble loading pictures...i think it's jayson's laptop and not user error!

Tomorrow we are off to cruise the lake and hike Tuff mountain...and I'll give it another go at loading more pictures.

pictures you didn't get to see

Day one in Couer d'Alene

Day one here in Couer d'Alene we spent the entire day at Silverwood Theme Park which is an amusement park and a water park all in one.  There is so much to do and see we'll be back again tomorrow.  Unfortunately I am the only brave sole in my family and will be the only one going on any of the roller coasters.
The weather here is hot and the views are fantastic.  There are mountain view everywhere you look.  Jenn, you better look for a new Managing Director because we are staying here!!

I've posted a few pictures so you may have to look at older posts to see new pictures.
Enjoy!
